BlueWater Express: Bali, Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands and Lombok

Serangan or Padang Bai?

BlueWater Express leaves Bali from two harbours. BlueWater recommends Serangan Harbor for travellers staying in south Bali (Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Sanur) and Padang Bai for central Bali, including Ubud, because the road transfer is shorter and cheaper. From Serangan, one morning boat calls at Buyuk on Nusa Penida and the other calls at Padang Bai on the way to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Bangsal. Return boats call at the same harbours on the way back to Serangan.

Check-in and stopovers

Last check-in is 30 minutes before departure; BlueWater may treat later arrivals as a no-show, and a no-show is not refunded. Stops at Padang Bai and Nusa Penida usually last 10 to 20 minutes and are included in the crossing times above. BlueWater has an office at Buyuk harbour.

Hotel pick-up

A BlueWater ticket on Sailtix is harbour to harbour. BlueWater sells hotel pick-up and drop-off separately: for Serangan departures, pick-up from Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Sanur is about 1 hour 30 minutes before departure; for Padang Bai departures, pick-up from Ubud is about 3 hours before. Book it with BlueWater directly.

Routes Sailtix does not sell

Sailtix does not sell BlueWater tickets between Serangan and Padang Bai, or between Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Bangsal. The boats call at these harbours, but only the routes in the timetable above can be booked here.

Boats

The routes on Sailtix currently run on two 84-seat fast ferries, Bluewater Express XII and Bluewater Express XIV. Both have cabin seating; Bluewater Express XIV also has an outside rear deck and phone charging.
