The direct boats
Compare operators in the dated live schedule for departure times, crossing durations, seat availability and fares. Services can run in the morning or afternoon, depending on your travel date. Check each boat’s baggage allowance and any intermediate stops before booking.
Getting to Banjar Nyuh
The harbour sits on the island’s north-west corner. Hotels arrange drops as a matter of course — the island is small but the roads are slow and rough in places, so agree the pickup time the night before and leave margin. There is no ride-hail on Penida.
If the direct boats are full
Check all departures for your travel date before choosing a connection via Sanur. That alternative requires a boat back to Bali and a separate crossing to Gili Trawangan. Confirm both dated schedules, fares and check-in deadlines, and allow time between boats before booking.
The eco-retribution
Every visitor to the Gilis pays an island levy on arrival, in cash, at the jetty. It is genuinely fixed and genuinely small, and it surprises people only because nobody mentions it beforehand. Bring small notes.

Via Sanur with a change
Travel back to Sanur and change boats for Gili Trawangan when a direct departure does not suit your plans. This adds another crossing and check-in, so compare the complete itinerary with the direct boats. A same-day connection depends on both dated schedules.
Private charter, direct
A private speedboat may offer a departure time suited to your group, subject to availability and sea conditions. It is priced as a boat, so ask us for a charter quote if you are travelling together.
Gili Air and Gili Meno
The boats call at more than one island on most runs, so the journey is the same until the final stops — pick your island when you book and get off at yours.
