What actually departs from here
The private charter and yacht fleet departs from Serangan — half-days, full days, sunset cruises and multi-day runs to Penida and the Gilis. Be clear about what that means for fishing: these are charter boats, not rigged sport-fishing boats. Serangan is where you book the boat and the water; the dedicated fishing tackle sails from Sanur, eight kilometres up the coast.

The grounds
Serangan opens straight into the Badung Strait, so the water is the same water Sanur fishes: the Penida walls and current lines, and the reef edges either side of the channel. The difference is the boat under you, not the ground you reach.
