  • Since 1 September 2026 every visitor also pays Rp 25,000 per adult (Rp 15,000 per child) at each covered tourist site on the island.
  • Pay the levy at the harbour ticket counters (cash preferred) or in advance on atixbali.com; online tickets are valid only for the date you choose. At Banjar Nyuh the e-ticket barcode is scanned on arrival.

  • Eka Jaya and Semaya One ask you to arrive an hour before departure; Axe Stone recommends 30–60 minutes.

Boarding

  • The main government port at Banjar Nyuh (officially Toyapakeh) has a concrete jetty and floating pontoons.

Getting there

  • Most fast boats from Sanur land here, including Axe Stone, Starfish and The Angkal. Eka Jaya and Semaya One also stop here on their Gili and Lombok lines. Nusa Penida’s other harbours are Sampalan and Buyuk, so check which one your ticket names.

Getting around

  • Taxis and drivers wait at the harbour, and scooter rentals are easy to find in nearby Toyapakeh.

  • Visitors to the three Gilis pay an entry fee of Rp 20,000 (foreign) or Rp 10,000 (Indonesian adults), in force since 1 February 2024. Most boats from Bali collect it when you board or include it in the ticket; otherwise staff collect it at the Gili harbour.
  • A rise to Rp 50,000 for foreign visitors has been proposed but was still a draft in 2026, so the Rp 20,000 rate applies.

Check-in

  • Eka Jaya transfers passengers by shuttle boat between its ferry and the shore here, so check-in and the shuttle leave earlier than on other islands.
  • Gili Getaway asks you to be at the dock at least 30 minutes before departure; its boats leave on time.

Boarding

  • Expect to step through shallow water when you get off, so wear shoes that can get wet.

Getting around

  • There are no motor vehicles on the Gilis. You walk, rent a bicycle or take a cidomo (horse cart), which is the usual way to move heavy luggage. Cidomo fares are not fixed, so agree the price before you get on.
  • A 2026 transport-office advisory also bars renting or riding e-bikes and e-scooters on the islands.

  • Weather can cancel sailings, most often from January to March. Eka Jaya advises leaving at least 24 hours before any onward flight, and mornings are usually the calmest time to cross.
