Gili Getaway runs the fast boat from Gili Gede, off the Sekotong coast of West Lombok, to Gili Air. It leaves Gili Gede mid-morning and reaches Gili Air around midday, a crossing of about 2 hours.
The sailing is part of Gili Getaway's line from Serangan in Bali: the boat calls at Gili Gede on its way up Lombok's west coast and stops at Senggigi before Gili Air. It does not sail every day, so check the dates in the schedule above.
On Gili Gede the Gili Getaway boat uses a private resort jetty rather than the beach. Gili Getaway asks you to be at the dock at least 30 minutes before departure, and its boats leave on time.
Gili Gede has no ATM, so you cannot top up on cash before you leave; on Gili Air there are ATMs close to the harbour.
On Gili Air, expect to step through shallow water when you get off, so wear shoes that can get wet. There are no motor vehicles on the island: you walk, rent a bicycle or take a cidomo (horse cart), the usual way to move heavy luggage, and a 2026 advisory also bars e-bikes and e-scooters. Cidomo fares are not fixed, so agree the price before you get on.
Visitors to Gili Air pay an island entry fee; check whether it is included in your ticket, otherwise staff collect it at the harbour. Weather can cancel sailings, most often from January to March. Fares for each departure are shown live in the schedule above.
