Two operators sail from Serangan Harbor in south Bali to Gili Air: Gili Getaway and D'Camel Fast Ferry. Every departure in the schedule above leaves in the morning and reaches Gili Air around midday.
Crossing times differ a lot between boats. Gili Getaway's quicker sailing takes about 2 hours 45 minutes and D'Camel's about 3 hours 30 minutes. Gili Getaway's longer sailing takes about 4 hours 15 minutes because it runs via Gili Gede and Senggigi on the Lombok side. The schedule shows the duration of every departure.
D'Camel sails every day in the current schedule. Gili Getaway's sailings do not run every day and follow different day patterns, so check the dates in the schedule before you book.
Serangan is about 30 to 40 minutes by road from Kuta or the airport in normal traffic. Denpasar's city transport office has run the port since June 2024, and a city regulation sets a small per-person port entry pass. After check-in you wait in the port's waiting area until boarding is called; toilets and small food stalls are at or near the harbour.
Gili Getaway asks you to be at the dock at least 30 minutes before departure; its boats leave on time, normal luggage travels free and surfboard bags are charged per journey. For D'Camel, go by the check-in time on your ticket.
On Gili Air, expect to step through shallow water when you get off, so wear shoes that can get wet. There are no motor vehicles on the island: you walk, rent a bicycle or take a cidomo (horse cart), the usual way to move heavy luggage, and a 2026 advisory also bars e-bikes and e-scooters. Cidomo fares are not fixed, so agree the price before you get on.
Visitors to Gili Air pay an island entry fee; most boats from Bali collect it when you board or include it in the ticket, otherwise staff collect it at the harbour. ATMs are close to the harbour. Fares for every departure are shown live in the schedule above.
